Welcome to my kit - edition #3 Bronzer, Blush & Brushes
When it comes to restocking bronzer in my kit, I can never go past one of my all time favorites 'Nars - Laguna Bronzer'. Being a makeup artist in Australia, I come across a lot of fair skin tones. I know that we all like to get a bit of a tan in the summer time, but for those fair skinned beauties out there that struggle to find a bronzer that doesn't look orange or muddy on the skin , this bronzer is for you. It applies beautiful and the colour is buildable for those times w

Jessica's Bridal Makeup
I recently got some photos back from a destination wedding I worked at in Queensland. I was hired to make up the gorgeous Jessica for her wedding day. Jess wanted something classic and not over the top. Although Jess wears makeup daily, its normally limited to just eyeliner and on occasion some highlighter, so she made it clear that she wasn't use to having a full face of makeup on and didn't want it to feel unnatural and heavy. At the trial we went through the usual question

Mature Age Makeup - The Do's & Don'ts
It's very easy as a makeup artist to fall into a pattern of applying the same makeup and using the same product on all clients. This however is a bad pattern to get into, as it is very important to realise that not all skin types are the same and not all products are going to perform the same and to their best ability when put on different skin. A professional makeup artist should be able to cater to all skin types (dry, oily, combination, mature etc.) and all skin tones. In

Eliza's Winter Formal Makeup
Earlier this month I made up the incredibly sweet Eliza for her Year 12 winter formal (prom). Eliza had never had her makeup done professionally before, so this was a big treat for her. Eliza showed me her outfit for the night, which was a white tailored bustier style top with black wide leg pants with slits up the sides. This outfit lent itself to pretty much any style of makeup, but Eliza opted for a classic but natural smokey eye and soft nude lip. As Eliza is only 17, and

Charlie's 1st wedding - makeup look
Earlier this year, I had a client names Charlie who was off to her first ever wedding. It was the wedding of her boyfriends cousin, and she wanted to look and feel gorgeous, so hired my services. Charlie wanted something glam but that also didn't mask her natural features. I wanted to bring her gorgeous blue eyes out and make them the feature. We decided on a goldie/bronze smokey eye and natural lips. This is the look below. #makeup #makeup #makeup #makeuplook #lotd #lookofth

From trial to wedding day.
I thought it would be interesting to see the journey I take in creating a makeup look from trial to wedding day. Below you can find photos from a recent bridal look I did on the lovely Lee. I have included photos from the trial, and a few pics of final product from the wedding day itself. At the trial I like to discuss in detail everything from styling of hair and bridal look, to where the wedding will take place in order to create the best look for my client. We talk about h

Off to a ball - Sarah's makeup look
I recently had the fortune to makeup the gorgeous and super awesome Sarah for a ball she was going too. Not only did she have the most unbelievable view from her apartment, she was also a stunner and an absolute delight! We spent half the time chatting and laughing. Here are a few snaps of the finished look. There are some before photos at the end of the post. #powerofmakeup #makeup #makeup #makeup #glammakeup #glam #boldlip #darklip #lips #lipstick #boldlipstick #darklipstic

Natural Bridesmaid Makeup
This is a look I did last weekend on the gorgeous Elo. Elo's sister was having a really chilled low-key picnic style wedding and Elo wanted a natural look, but with a flawless finish. As you can see in the before photo if you scroll down, Elo has a bit of acne scarring and a few spots. I aimed to cover them as best I could with a full coverage matte foundation and then went in gently with a natural eye and lip. Elo is wearing "Baby Demi Whispie" eyelashes by Adele's Lashes. W

The Power Of Makeup
I love makeup! Well obviously, it would be weird to be in my profession and not have a love for the products and the craft itself right? My husband always says to me that he prefers when I wear less or better still no makeup at all. Although very flattered, I try and explain to him that i'm not wearing makeup for him or for anyone else, I'm wearing it for me. I love everything there is to love about makeup and what it can do. I love how it can transform my tired, dehydrated f

Bobbi Brown - The Nude Library
This post really excites me, as I get to write about my new favorite eye shadow palette. I recently got my hands on one of the Bobbi Brown Nude Library 25th Anniversary Eyeshadow Palettes, and let me just say...OH MY GOD! It is AMAZING!!!!! It's the only thing I reach for these days when it comes to making up my eyes.
The palette was designed by Bobbi Brown to be universally flattering and to suit all skin types, using her favorite nude shades from archived nude palettes a
