Studio 54 Glam
Studio 54, oh how I wish I had been able to experience the glitz and glam of Studio 54. For those of you who have no idea what i'm talking about, Studio 54 was "the" nightclub to be seen at during the late 70's. Located in New York, it was often frequented by the likes of Andy Wahol, Elizabeth Taylor, David Bowie, Freddy Mercury and Cher. It saw performers such as Stevie Wonder, James Brown, Billy Ocean and The Village People. When it comes to style, this was an era of fluffy big hair, over the top makeup and sparkly clothing and accessories.
Needless to say that when I was contacted by Amanda, to do her makeup for a Studio 54 themed 40th birthday party she was throwing, I was super excited. As I mainly do bridal makeup, its not everyday that i get to let loose and create an over the top, glitter filled, sparkly makeup look. Amanda did some research of her own and expressed that she wanted a gold, sparkly smokey eye with false lashes. As we were going heavy on the eyes, we decided to balance it out with a natural lip. The below photos are of the finished product.
